Isaiah 58

Call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable,...Is this not the fast that I have chosen:

To loose the bonds of wickedness,

To undo the heavy burdens,

To let the oppressed go free,

And that you break every yoke?

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,

And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him,...

Then your light shall break forth like the morning.

    Isaiah 58:13,6-8

The images on these pages are photos of the Palouse, the agricultural region of North Central Idaho and Eastern Washington.

This region surrounds our town, Moscow, Idaho, and the wheat fields change magnificently from season to season.

Apart from the lead photo at the top of pages, all the other images are used by the very kind permission of Michael Reichmann of the wonderful photography site Luminous Landscape.

And just for fun, you might want to hear noted British singer, Nerina Pallot's lovely, melancholic song "Idaho" in this YouTube recording -- "My hands are on the wheel so I'm driving to Idaho. Cause I hear it's mighty pretty...in Idaho."

G.K. Chesterton Observation

"There is nothing to be reached upon the present lines except the increasing loss of property by everybody, as something swallowed up into a system equally impersonal and inhuman, whether we call it Communism or Capitalism. If we cannot go back, it hardly seems worthwhile to go forward. There is nothing in front but a flat wilderness of standardization either by Bolshevism or Big Business."
